The
question is ‘where does a Malaysian girl go for a good, hearty meal in
Beijing?’. Why, it's to Malacca Legend,
of course!
Situated
near the serene man-made Roma Lake, the Malaysian restaurant is fast gaining fame. It attracts Malaysian food lovers and also
growing in popularity amongst the locals. The restaurant is usually fully
packed during the holidays and weekends.
One
of my favorite dish in Malacca Legend is its ‘wet popiahs’. It is served separate
and unwrapped, popiah skin and its condiments, so we can have the pleasure of
wrapping it up ourselves. The other dish that is cooked well in this restaurant
is the ‘nasi lemak’, which is accompanied by chicken or other curry of our
choice. The restaurant serves all sorts of Malaysian dishes like chicken
rice, char kuey teow, satay and chili crabs.
The
head chef is a Malaysian called Joseph. I’m so often there that he knows my
name! It’s great that when I miss home
food, the restaurant is only five minutes drive away.
Next time you're in Beijing...
